Carolina joined Janux Therapeutics in May 2021 with responsibilities for strategy and implementation of phase-appropriate manufacturing processes from late-stage discovery through regulatory filings and clinical stages. Before Janux, Carolina co-developed the Synthorx expanded genetic alphabet platform and had a cross functional role supporting development of new targets from conception to selection of lead candidates through development and clinical manufacturing. After the Synthorx acquisition by Sanofi, Carolina assumed the Head of CMC role for the San Diego site leading the technology transfer to Sanofi, including manufacturing processes for THOR-707 and THOR-809, which are currently in clinical development.
Carolina holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She performed post-doctoral training at the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) at UC Berkeley and later was American Heart Association fellow in the department of Microbiology & Immunology at Stanford University.
